Please make sure and check Weather & Road Conditions (especially during the winter months) before planning your trip.  Much of the Turquoise Trail is above 6,000 and the conditions are different than Albuquerque.

The Turquoise Trail Association promotes the area’s scenic, recreational and historic qualities and the businesses along the National Scenic Byway and works tirelessly to expand the Trails visibility. 
 

 
  Santa Fe 

Santa Fe (Convention & Visitors Bureau)
Santa Fe is the Northern Gateway of the Turquoise Trail and is one of three locations to base your travel in the area.  The others are Albuquerque and Madrid.  Santa Fe is also celebrating it's 400th Birthday in 2010, another good reason to visit Santa Fe.

 
  Albuquerque 

Albuquerque (Convention & Visitors Bureau)
Albuquerque is just west of Tijeras, the Southern Gateway of the Turquoise Trail and is one of three locations to base your travel in the area.  The others are Santa Fe and Madrid.

 
  Madrid

The Madrid's Merchant Association provides information on things to do and see in the wonderful village of Madrid. This is is one of three locations to base your travel in the area.  The others are Albuquerque and Madrid.   Finally there is a separate Wildhogs in Madrid website for information on the Movie Wildhogs, which was filmed in Madrid.

The Experience Central New Mexico website provide visitors tourism information Central New Mexico and many locations along the Turquoise Trail.

 
  State of New Mexico 

State of New Mexico
New Mexico's Tourism site has extensive information on how to Learn, Experience, Enjoy, Explore, Play, Stay and Look at the "Land of Enchantment".  They also have a separate section on Scenic Byways including the Turquoise Trail.

The National Scienc Byway Program's web site provides information on Scenic Byways, the Turquoise Trail is just one of nine in New Mexico.

The Alexander's provide travel information on many Towns, Villages and Attractions along the trail.

 
  Cibola National Forest 

Cibola National Forest
The Cibola National Forest is managed by the Sandia Ranger District and their office in Tijeras is the Official Southern Starting point of the Trail.  They also have a wonderful interpretive center in Tijeras.

 
  Amtrak 

Amtrak
Amtrak's Southwest Chief passed through Cerrillos twice daily.  The nearest stations are in Albuquerque and Lamy (which is the station for Santa Fe).

 
  Historic 66 

Historic 66 (New Mexico)
The Mother Road, historic US Highway 66 passed through Tijeras (the Soutern Gateway of the Turquoise Trail).  This site is broght to you by avid Route 66 fans.
